Moorland golf designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie
The architect of Augusta National and Cypress Point laid out this course in the hills above Uppermill, with panoramic Pennine views and a warm welcome.
Every way in to Saddleworth
Whether you have come to play, to join, or to mark an occasion, the next step is here.
Saddleworth Golf Club, founded in May 1904, is a moorland course in the hills above Uppermill with panoramic Pennine views.
The course was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie — architect of Augusta National, Royal Melbourne, Cypress Point and Pebble Beach — and the present 5th green is believed to be one of his original surviving greens.
Beyond the course there's a refurbished Golf Studio with simulator technology and PGA coaching, a clubhouse bar with a 5-star food hygiene rating, and a full-size snooker room. Visitors are welcome, with a range of flexible memberships.

“Designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, with an original MacKenzie green still in play at the 5th.”
